Plein Air Tuesday - 10/1/24 - Schnebly Hill Road - Day 2

So, here we are Day 2 -- you can't tell from this pic, but once again we arrived to the Wind.

It did stay pretty breezy for the whole time we were there, but that's probably a good thing because it also became quite warm.

Well, back to arrivals - I arrived and found that this time I wasn't the first.  A few arrived before me and had already wandered around a bit to find their perfect spot.

Smiling Denise

Denise was heading back to her car to get her stuff after her bit of exploring.  Bob also did the same and pulled his stuff together to go to his spot.

And, here they are again, at their vehicles collecting their stuff.

Denise, random hikers, Bob - off they go!

Then, look at who we have here.

Mike & his beard

Hmmm, he must've exchanged the Mug for his Beard.  Well, take a good look at this pic because this is the last you'll see of him until the group shot.  Not that I didn't try to find him in his spot.  But, for some reason at this location I can never find where that spot is.

Guess, Bob didn't find his spot initially after all.   Because, here he is (see the red shirt) off in the distance with his arms akimbo -- definitely looks undecided.  Either that or he's saying "now, where was that spot??"

Eileen decided she likes plein air painting, so the New Girl returned.

Eileen

Oh look, she's drinking something - probably Mike's coffee.

Then these 2 pretty ladies showed up from the wilderness.  You just never know what'll coming wandering through the wilderness area.

Denise went back to her last week's spot and Eileen opted for the spot Suzie & I had last week -- see her box on the picnic table.

Oh, WOW, we have a Returner!!!

LeAnne the "Returner"

So glad to see her come back.  I bet she was expecting cooler temps - Surprise!!  We're still experiencing the heat of Summer here.  But, she was smiling anyway.

So Carolyn and Tecla tucked into some shrubbery, they thought it looked like a great spot -- however, apparently so did the ants.  Maybe they were going after those "special apples" Carolyn had with her.  You'll have to ask her to show them to you.

I meant to mention earlier that I suspected that if Bob was there, Betty probably was too.  So, I had to go in search of her.  I did find her off to the other side, but the wind was whipping around the shrubbery there, so I opted for another spot.

Thankfully she wasn't wearing green, I would've never found her!  LeAnne had her trusty setup and also found a spot apparently also among the ants.

Of course, there were visitors wandering around and these two took the time to admire Denise's work and complimented her (I heard it since, as you can see, I took this photo from my spot which was close by).

Visitors, Denise

By the way folks, my spot didn't have ants, or at least not any that were bothering me.

I have to include this one because it's the only one I got of Eileen actually in her spot AND of some of the chatting and visiting that goes on.

We actually all finished up pretty early which worked out well because that gave us more time to stand back and really have a good look at our gallery.  Thanks to the trail sign spot, we had a nice location to build it.

Don't worry, I've learned my lesson -- here they are once again in a larger format.

We all stood around and did quite a bit of talking plus admired everyone's artwork.  It's the only chance we really get to all gather together.  No wonder we all find it so easy to smile on 2!

Well, next week will be another place but the same time.  It's still too hot out there to start out any later.

In the meantime, several of us will get the chance to visit for a longer period of time as we'll be participating in the Slide Rock Fest on Saturday 10/5/24.  There's still time if you decide you want to join us, just let me know.
