Plein Air Tuesday - 2/24/26 - Posse Ground Trail - Day 1

The morning started off a bit off, they've put up gates around the school and community pool since we were last there however many years ago that was.   It made navigating between the different parking lots when you're walking a bit difficult and LONG.   Couldn't get from one place to the other easily as before.

But, I got there and Eileen called as I was driving through the multiple parking areas.  She was there with Anna and they were wondering where I might be and if anyone else was there.

Eileen (pointing) and Anna

A new guy, James, arrived and came over to say hi as well as Janel.  We all then started walking towards the trail.

(L to R) Anna, James, Eileen, Janel

Once again I've managed to give you photos where everyone is readily identifiable.  I'd recognize them all by their very distinctive BEIGE hats (and not a one had Plein Air Tuesday on it).

So, that top picture is really just one of the many pretty views that can be seen from this trail.  I was too busy walking and carrying my stuff to stop and take other pictures.  Sorry about that, hopefully I'll do better next week.

There were others that I saw when we started out, but, also forgot to take their pics.  That's what happens when you start being inconsistent in showing up for Plein Air Tuesday - you forget all the things you would normally do.

But, I do have some pictures of artists at work or hanging out near trees, etc.

Eileen in her Spot

Eileen's spot was actually right near mine, she may have even found hers first.  I used one of the covered picnic benches that are there just near the Disc Golf Course.   Now you're probably thinking I had shelter from the sun -- wrong.  It was beating on my back the whole time.  Good thing it wasn't a hot day.

Here's Gail as she was wandering past some trees and shrubs.

Gail

You can tell from the picture that the trail she was on was probably 3 feet lower than where I was standing.  The trail does wander around a bit.

Here's the new guy, James busy working in pastels.

Jim, and off on the right edge is Anna

So here is Lauren, and if you look along the right edge you'll see the fence that is now all over the place and forcing you to hike around its edge.  Although I think Anna found a gate that opened, but that's only good if it's in the area you want to get to.

Lauren

I suppose I could give you a closer view of her that sort of makes her a bit more recognizable.

Lauren, and I think in the background is Gail (see what happens when you zoom in)

These are pics I took as I was heading back to a potential meet up area.

 Smiling LeAnne packing up

Here's Pete putting some finishing touches on another great painting!

Pete

As you can see as these pictures are popping up, there were a lot more people there than who I saw when first heading out from the parking lot.

Here's another familiar face (she claims to have arrived maybe only 5 minutes after 10:00 - hmmm 🤔).
I'm sure you all guessed it, it's Timestamp

Nita

Here's Pat who apparently traveled the parking lots and roadways around Posse Ground extensively this morning as she tried to figure out what parking lot and how to get there.  But, she made it, good for her for persevering!

Pat

As you can see, she was on the "other side of the fence"  - that fence is really annoying!!

When we decided on the location to host our gallery, I had to then go and locate some wandering artists.  Found these 3 just hanging out and waiting.

And now for the results of the morning!

And here are their closeups

Yes, we all agreed, it's actually a super location with a lot of different views to catch your eye.   So, as we all gathered together to smile on 2, I had difficulties with my setup -- but, we were saved by some kindly visitors who took (I kid you not) 14 shots of us!  It took some reviewing but I believe this one has all of us smiling and looking up.  Actually, I'll show you 2 one close up and one with a distant view so you can see the scenery too!

Back Row - (L to R) Eileen, Pete, Mike
Middle Row - (L to R) Gail, Pat, LeAnne, Nita, Lauren, Janel
Front Row - (L to R) Anna, James, Me (Cecilia)

Names are the same! Great pics thanks to the kind stranger!

Definitely a pretty day and a lot of fun was had - met some new people and enjoyed the company of great artists!

Till next week!

Plein Air Tuesday - Schnebly Hill Rd Trail - 2/3/26 -- Day 2

While I was not there on what was another very pretty day in Sedona, there were a couple of great photographers in the group.  Namely, Nori and LeAnne.  So with thanks to these two great artists here is what they captured beyond their beautiful paintings.

Nori apparently was the one who ran around and took pics of everyone in their Spots!  She did a super job AND actually included faces.  Much unlike a lot of the photos I typically take, these can by used for identification purposes 😊.   What that does mean though, Nori is not in any of the photos, not even in LeAnne's group photo because Nori had to leave early.

Ok, here goes.

Apparently Anna decided to just use the picnic bench instead of the table and chair she usually has with her.

Anna

Hey, that's a really nice set up she had going on!

I see Janel decided to sit for a change, no table though.  She's using her tripod and the ground for her stuff.

Janel

Here's Pete and he might be close to the same spot he was in last week, I'm not positive though.

Pete

And, look who decided to join in on the fun instead of just wandering all around the state by himself.

David

Yup, it's David.  He sometimes actually comes to the paintouts but gets there before everyone and leaves early -- something about the sunrise and a glow on the rocks.   Keep trying to tell him, that's ok, you're an artist you can just pretend it was happening while you were there 😉

Here's another one who can't always make it, but his reason is always "work".  Sorry I missed you this day Ed.

Ed

Oh and next we have our Rock Sitter - always looks like she's just playing.   Guess that's one of the many ways she's managed to stay young.

Nita 1

You'd think her back would hurt - the girl is limber!

Next we have the missing Mike from last week.

Mike

Boy, we had a lot of sitters this week -- here's Lauren, also seated.

Lauren

And, the next one's smile gives them away ...

Smiling LeAnne

Ok, to be fair though, on this day, Nori did catch all of them smiling.  There's one more person that shows up in the group photo whose Spot went unknown and to top it all off her face is pretty well hidden behind her sunglasses.  But, I'm pretty sure I've figured it out.

But, first for the Gallery so you can see everyone's work.  While the above photos were by Nori, all the following are by LeAnne.

And now for the artists who all smiled on 2.

Front Row (L to R) Anna, LeAnne

Well, that's it for this week.  My thanks to the duo that took over making sure the rest of us could see what we missed 😊 - till next week!
