Plein Air Tuesday - 5/27/25 - M’s Secret Spot - Day 2

 

There are those birds again, they showed up for Day 2 even though I didn’t!  But I can tell you that 7 artists did show up.  With thanks to LeAnne and Nita 1,  I do have other pictures to share with you.  However, since I incorporated them into my photos, I don’t know who sent what.  So, we’ll just have to give a big thank you to both of them!!

Oh, guess what, just found out my photo app is smarter than I knew.  I pulled up this next photo and at the top it said "From LeAnne", how about that!

Gee, I have a feeling that Tecla is sitting in the same spot she was last week.  Bet she's working on that bridge again.

Now, I know that was a different spot for her this week.    

Ok, so this is interesting, this next photo didn't show up labeled in my Photos the way the ones from LeAnne did.  It would appear that the difference is that LeAnne texted me her photos and Nita emailed hers.  Just guessing that's the reason and I thought it was interesting.

So, Suzette has a look that sort of says - "Hey, what are you looking at?"  Umm, it wasn't me but I'm going to guess Nita was just trying to get a pic of Carolyn in her spot and Carolyn is using Oils for a change!  Great job Carolyn, you're all set for donning that Beret in gay Paris!

Well, since we have a photo of Suzette already, let's show you her spot -- you know how I know it's her spot, right?  Just look at all those pretty colorful pastels!!!  It just makes you want to do something with them.  And, from the looks of her painting, she did.  Wow, it looks really great!

Yup, I was right, Tecla tackled the bridge again and it really looks great.  Super composition and not an easy thing to do using that pillar.

Ok, I know this next one is LeAnne's spot, not just because of her painting, but because of her very colorful chair.

Well, I don't know where Nita's spot was, nor do I know where Mike's was, however, here's Mike all packed up.

I don't know what Mike was talking about, but he certainly had Lisa & Carolyn's attention.  Must've been very interesting.  We'll have to get them to share it with us.

I suspect Mike was getting ready to not just leave, but help build the gallery first, because I know his painting is in there.

Plein Air Tuesday - 5/20/25 - M's Secret Spot - Day 1

 

In case you're trying to figure out who the person is in the above photo, the answer is ... I haven't a clue.  I can tell you he was a teenage guy who we encountered fishing when we got there.  He had a couple of other young friends come along to join him and they all went out of sight.  He claimed to have caught a couple of fish when we first saw him - so for you fishermen out there, this is a spot to try.

Ok, well, I've decided to make a bit of a change to this blog in that I won't be doing a lot of the "arrival" thing, etc.  I'm sure you all won't miss that.  But, I decided I needed to start spending a bit more time actually painting.  Although, from my painting today, you'd never know it.

Since there were quite a few of us in this one spot, I do have some pics to share though and you'll see that this clearly will be a good place to go when the weather gets really hot since it's nice and cool under that bridge.

When I started out I knew that Mike was near me, but I was surprised when I turned around at one point and saw the crowd.  Also off over to the right of Nori was Carolyn and Tecla.

 Others that were there but went off to parts unknown were, Suzette & Sophie.  No surprise Sophie wandered off and needless to say, the last to arrive for the photos.  But, she made it.

Suzette finished her painting a bit early and headed back to our spot under the bridge to do some visiting.

Isn't that Great!!  It certainly does look like a line up of birds.  Of course, it's just rocks stacked.  Don't know if the stackers intended to have them look like birds or it just happened that way.  Oh, and look, there are some other people in the background.  We did see some people come by and a few that had dogs.  One couple had 3 BIG Dogs.  Nori got a bit concerned when they went over to sniff her stuff -- she said, oh no, please don't ...   they didn't!

Well, as we waited for Sophie to join back up with us,  we all had a chance to stand and chat and admire each other's work.  Now, I'll give you all a chance to admire it too.

Plein Air Tuesday - 5-13-25 -- Jail House Trailhead - Finally

 This is titled "Jail House Trailhead - Finally" because it seemed like every time this location was proposed, something came up to prevent our going.  Sorry, no photo to start, although Nita's sketch will give you a clear idea of where her Jeep was parked.  I say this because this is what she had to say:

"Hi everybody! Well, it was a bit breezy & cloudy this morning starting out but the sun broke through & it turned out to be pretty comfortable this morning. Oh wait, maybe it was so comfortable because I decided to stay in my Jeep & sketch while listening to an audio book!"

So what book was it Nita?

Apparently 5 of them decided to face the difficulty of dealing with the winds that have decided to land in our pretty area for a bit.  They were:  Nita 1, Dona (and yes that's spelled correctly, I've checked with her more than once), Lisa, Gail & Mike.

They all managed to produce paintings & sketches in spite of the wind.
